The HM 224B passes the flame penetration test in which the case must withstand a 1700° F flame for five minutes (Ref: Appendix E part 178 'Cargo Liner' Test). Additionally, the temperature four inches above the test article must not exceed 400° F. The SuperBox also passes the thermal resistance test in which the case is baked in an oven at 400° F for three hours. The temperature of the cylinder must not exceed 199° F. The HM 224B exceeds the requirements in both of these tests. Along with heat tests, the Americase HM 224B SuperBox has been subjected to numerous free-fall impact tests which closely simulate common material handling practices.
